Smack-Off XVII
April 8th, 2011
The seventeenth annual Smack-Off was held on April 8th, 2011. Brad in Corona won, joining Sean the Cablinasian, Doc Mike DiTolla, and Iafrate in the two-time winners club.
For the second straight year the Hack-Off provided an automatic berth in the Smack-Off. Hack-Off II was held on April 1st, 2011 and was won by Ray Ray in Tampa. Ray Ray did not make it on the air during the Smack-Off.
I will not be taking the time to handicap the field, but BetUS.com took action on the event. The odds might get posted here at some point.
Following the Smack-Off, 1560 The Game in Houston, which currently airs shows hosted by Travis Rodgers and Sean "the Cablinasian" Pendergast, aired a parody of the Smack-Off, "Smack-Off on a Mobile". Adam Clanton hosted with a perfect Jim Rome impersonation. Greg in Vegas, Willie in K.C., and Sean the Cablinasian all made calls that provided plenty of laughs and some pitch perfect critiques of The Jungle. T-Rodge took a few shots as well. Another brilliant effort by the guys at 1560. Check out their work in the Ancillary Audio section.

Best wishes Silk. Met you at Billy and Marie's Boat Parade Party 3 years back. Much love to your wonderful wife. This year lock it up with some old school thoughts from the 690 late night era. Traxell...Dullsaw Hammil, Chris Evert. Make lil' James the greek sweat it out and remind the world that Ervin is the best ever...A Legend cut short by Isiah's tongue kiss! Win It!

I hope he wins. Best of the rapidly dwindling old schoolers.

Great call but Jay Mohr will never exceed what Vic has done in life? Right.

Awesome call... thought provoking on a spiritual and mental level. Beautiful delivery.. it was like I was listening to Sage Francis. Other calls were funnier or more entertaining, but Israel's call was the most powerful by far. Brilliant.

The slam man. Nice find. You following me camera guy?
Any call with two infomercial references has to be an automatic winner.

Perhaps the funniest call in the history of the jungle. I have been listening since the Rome night show and have been to many tour stops, heard every smack-off. This call is GREAT!
